New Way to Diet – Intermittent Fasting

When thinking about health and especially weight loss trends, it is often difficult to know what diets are actually reliable between those that are unsafe. Every time you turn around a new diet or trend pops up, such as the Cookie Diet, or the Baby Food Diet. The problem with the majority of these fad diets is that most are unproven, restrictive, and are actually unrealistic for anyone to stick to for a long time. But this is not the case with intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating. This is an established lifestyle and has been around for many years and currently is practiced in many cultures around the globe.

Fastful dieting

This type of fastful dieting begins with the basics of intermittent fasting that is often referred to as time-restricted eating. Intermittent fasting or IF for short focuses on when you can eat instead of a traditional diet which is about what you eat. This eating pattern is where you are able to eat between certain time periods and then refrain from eating during the other hours. Actually, everyone fasts intermittently during the night while sleeping as they are not consuming any calories – so it is considered fasting. When you are asleep for 5 to 7 hours, you are actually intermittent fasting. Then when you wake up, you “break-fast”, and after that periodically eat through the remaining hours of your day.

Intermittently fasting

This fasting intermittently makes the most of a normal cycle by creating personal eating and fasting windows. This idea is to restrict how often you eat allowing the body to make any necessary repairs cellularly and may reduce the overall calories consumed.

Active lifestyle

For many this is an attractive lifestyle since it does not:

  • Eliminate food groups
  • Not unrealistic
  • Not rigorous

So, say bye to juice diets and other such as this and try this type of fasting.
